Collaborative learning; confidence building

The focus of our Upper Secondary teaching sessions is on the development of a collaborative learning environment. This is enabled by coaching students to acquire information through listening, teaching them on the art of asking good questions, encourage teamwork to work on high level challenging questions and to summarize and contribute to communal learning through peer-peer explanations.

The development of such a learning environment provides opportunities for deep student-tutor and peer-peer interaction, building strong learning support systems for their educational journey beyond just the academic examinations.

FOUNDER | SEC CHEMISTRY | SEC AMATHS

A MOST alumnus, Mr Yeo now joins the MOST family of tutors to impart his knowledge and share the guidance he received when he was a student in MOST. Mr Yeo’s classes focus on going through fundamental concepts and tackling common questions from the school’s topic so that his students would be able to retain the information better.
Mr. Teo, PhD

Mr. Teo, PhD

CO-FOUNDER | JC PHYSICS

Driven by the love of mentoring and instilling appropriate learning habits, Mr Teo has been closely fused with students ranging from secondary school to undergraduates for the last 15 years. As an avid learner himself, Mr Teo hopes to inspire student’s curiosity in the subject matter by contextualizing using real-life applications to help students master scientific concepts. When tackling a tricky question, his methodology includes guiding students to digest the contents of the question and take it on step-by-step by identifying key information from the question.

MANAGER | JC CHEMISTRY | SEC CHEMISTRY

My approach to teaching chemistry is anything but ordinary. I don’t just throw formulas and facts at students—I teach them to think like chemists. Instead of relying on memorization, I challenge students to break down complex ideas, ask why things happen, and connect concepts logically. I encourage curiosity, pushing students to analyze patterns, predict reactions, and approach problems with a critical mind. When students say, “I don’t know how to do this." or ask "How to do this question?" I don’t just give them the answer—I guide them through the reasoning so they can figure it out themselves and increase their confidence level. I aspire to make chemistry engaging, thought-provoking, and even a little fun.

SEC BIOLOGY

My approach to teaching biology goes beyond memorising facts and definitions. I aim to help my students make sense of the living world, as I believe biology is about uncovering the why and how behind life’s processes – not just learning scientific terms by heart. In my classes, we focus on building strong conceptual foundations and connecting what we learn to real-life experiences. I keep lessons discussion-based, which allows me to guide students through their thinking step by step – helping them deepen their understanding and gain confidence in solving problems. My goal is to make biology not just informative, but exciting and meaningful.

SEC PHYSICS

Hi I am Yi Sheng, I primarily teach physics here at MOST. Instead of blindly memorising formulas, I focus on helping students understand concepts by providing them with interesting analogies or by linking to real life scenarios. In classes, I tend to ask my students leading questions to help them improve their thought process which is more beneficial compared to being directly given the answers. Feel free to ask any questions without being judged so that we can learn from one another and create a more conducive environme
WHY CHOOSE US

TESTIMONIALS

What Our Students Say About Us

Home-based learning has been challenging for me as I am not able to fully keep pace with what was taught through pre-recorded videos. I am grateful that the online classes conducted by the teachers at MOST allows me to seek clarifications on the discussed topics immediately.

This has greatly enabled my learning to keep pace with my schoolwork. My tutor, Mr Ong, also went the extra mile to conduct extra sessions to ensure we fully grasp the concept, and a lot of help given when I am doing my homework. Thank you MOST for the constant motivation and support!

LIM TIAN HUI

star rating

The main challenge I faced during home-based learning was that there were no question features to ask any questions that I had during pre-recorded virtual classes. MOST live classes have been very helpful as I get to connect with my tutor more to ask the questions that arise during school time while saving time on travelling. MOST tutors also gave me additional practice to complement my learning and assignments.

This has enhanced my topical learning and enforced my conceptual understanding during the circuit breaker period. Thank you MOST for going beyond to help me!

LIM YI XIAN

star rating

Mr Calvin is a very patient and friendly teacher. He makes Physics more interesting and when we have any questions, we can ask him anytime.

When I first learnt Physics, I really hated the subject but after joining Mr Calvin’s class, my interest in Physics grew. He also taught us on the important things to take note of which I did not learn in school and this helped me in my examinations.
